Do I need to have a boating license to rent a boat?

Each state has different regulations concerning the use of rental boats. However a small boat that holds 4-6 people, with a small engine can be rented to anyone over 18 years-old. Under certain circumstances, and to rent larger vessels, you must obtain a permanent or temporary Boating Safety Education Certificate, and must be 18 years or older. Temporary Certificates are usually valid for two months and can may be obtained on a provisional basis from the rental location.

How long can I rent a boat for?

Boats are rented hourly, daily, or weekly.

What should I bring for my boat rental?

We suggest that you bring plenty of bottled water, food, and of course sunscreen as you will be spending plenty of time in the sun and may get dehydrated.

Charter agencies usually have their own their own captains or can recommend and hire a professional captain on your behalf for as long as needed.
